A Bit About Yosemite & Things to Do Here
The beauty of Yosemite has been attracting visitors for centuries. In 1927, Ansel Adams published his famous photograph of the face of the Half Dome, launching him to fame in the art world and attracting even more visitors to see the majesty of the park. Over 100 years later, the Half Dome still amazes millions of people each year. For experienced hikers – with permits – the hike up Half Dome is an incredible experience which boasts views of Vernal and Nevada Falls, Liberty Cap, Half Dome, as well as incredible views of Yosemite Valley and the High Sierra.
Yosemite Valley offers bikers over 12 miles of paved bike paths. If guests don’t bring their own bikes, they are available for rent in the park and guests can also utilize the park’s bike share program.
If biking is too much for you, a simple drive through the park can offer incredible views. The Tunnel View, at the western entrance to the park, gives an incredible panoramic view that includes Bridalveil Fall, El Capitan, and Half Dome. If you get there at the right time of year, you can see some incredible waterfalls. Along the south entrance you can find the Valley View, which boasts a view of the Merced River as well as El Capitan and the Cathedral Rocks and Spires.
